Skippyjon Jones: Color Crazy

Judy Schachner

Board Book(Series)

Ages 1 to 4

Penguin, 2008, 978-0-525-47956-7

Skippyjon Jones is a precocious Siamese kitten who has enormous ears and a decidedly colorful personality. Today Skippy is going to do some coloring. Joyously, Skippy draws a picture of a blue sun, tall yellow grass, a pink sky, and many other colorful features and creatures. Soon he has a fabulous scene to admire but for Skippy that is not quite enough. There is one more thing that he needs to color.

In this charming board book Judy Schachner finds a way to make learning the colors entertaining and funny. Anything that Skippyjon Jones touches with one of his smudgy little paws turns into something interesting, and children will definitely like his surprising finale, though one can only hope that young readers don’t decide to follow Skippy’s example.

Readers who like this Skippy book will be delighted to know that there are many more Skippy titles including board books, novelty titles, and picture books.
