Jacqueline Woodson
Author Jacqueline Woodson grew up in Greenville, South Carolina and Brooklyn, New York. A former drama therapist for runaways and homeless children in New York City, she now writes full-time and is also on the faculty of the Goddard College M.F.A. writing program. Her works include The Dear One, From the Notebooks of Melanin Sun, three "Maizon" novels (Last Summer with Maizon, Maizon at Blue Hill, and Between Madison and Palmetto), and I Hadn't Meant to Tell You This. Jacqueline Woodson is a Coretta Scott King Author Honor Book winner and many of her books have been named ALA Notable Book and ALA Best Book for Young Adults.
