Eloise goes to the beach

Eloise goes to the beach

Sonali Fry

Illustrated by Tammie Lyon

Novelty Picture Book (Series)

Ages 4 to 6

Simon and Schuster, 2007, 1-4169-3344-1

Eloise, Nanny and company are going to the beach today. Quickly Eloise packs up her beach things and soon enough she is splashing away to her heart’s content while Nanny, Skipperdee and Weenie sun themselves on the beach. At least they try to. Eloise has the tendency to splash a lot!

Later, on the beach Eloise sets about trying to see if she can find some treasure. “Wouldn’t that be fabulous?” Of course a snack is a must for everyone when all that waterskiing and playing works up a hunger. Finally, before packing up for the day, Eloise builds a sand castle. Will her creation win a prize in the sand castle contest?

This delightful book is full of tabs to pull, flaps to lift, and other surprises. Eloise fans will surely find it hard to resist, and it is the prefect volume to have on hand as one sets off in the car for that first beach day of the summer.
