Four insects decide to go out for dinner. They hop on their bikes and ride to the Two Nice Mice restaurant. When they go inside Ike the mouse greets them and Ivy seats them. Ivy gives them menus and the insects decide that they will all have Ike’s Surprise. They try to guess what the surprise will be and they are delighted when Ike brings them a platter loaded down with cheese.
In this entertaining easy reader young children will get to practice words which contain a long “I” sound. Certain words appear several times in the text and children will find that the pictures give them clues if they are having difficulty decoding a word. At the back of the book the author has included some fun facts about restaurants and a recipe for tasty Nice Mice Treats.
