The Smallest Snowflake

Bernadette Watts

Picture Book

Ages 4 to 7

NorthSouth, 2009, 0735822581

One winter day the snowflakes began to gather in the sky. When the time was right, they began to fall. One snowflake decided that it would fall on the top of “the most beautiful mountain in the world,” where it could be admired. Another decided to fall on the branch of a tree where it would “dazzle…all the creatures of the forest.” A third decided that it would fall on a great city that is full of “jeweled domes and sparkling palaces.”

All of these places sounded wonderful, and the littlest snowflake wondered where its “special place” was. Should it land on the battlements of a castle or on the roof of a cottage? Where did it belong?

This magical book will delight young readers who like to take journeys in their imagination.
