Ages 4 to 7

Scholastic, 2009, 0545121191

It is the day before Thanksgiving, and Clayton the house mouse is thinking about Christmas. This year he wants to find “the biggest Christmas tree ever.” Not far off, Clayton’s friend Desmond, the field mouse, is thinking exactly the same thing.

After Thanksgiving is over both mice get up early to go to Clara’s Christmas Tree Farm. Both mice hope that he will be able to choose the best Christmas tree on the lot. Though they are the only mice there, Clayton and Desmond don’t find trees that suit them. They go home feeling very disappointed.

Later that day both mice head out to the Christmas tree farm again. This time they meet and they decide to work together to find the biggest Christmas tree ever. Surely if they work together they will have better luck.

In this charming Christmas tale, young readers will follow the adventures of two little mice who have the same dream. Luckily, they both get the spirit of Christmas, and together they give everyone in their town a wonderful Christmas gift.
