It has been a wonderful year living with Aunt Lucy on Cobble Street and now Lily, her sister Rosie, and their cousin Tess have to prepare for their parents return. Though they look forward to seeing their parents, the girls cannot help feeling miserable at the prospect of leaving Aunt Lucy and all their Cobble Street friends. Harder still is accepting the fact that their wonderful trio is going to broken up.
Aunt Lucy's boyfriend Michael does his best to cheer up his three young friends, as does Aunt Lucy. They all decide that every year they will all get together for a reunion on Cobble Street at Aunt Lucy's house and to help with their immediate sense of gloom they set about planning a welcome home party for their parents. Soon the three girls are very busy making plans, preparing treats and rehearsing the "entertainment."
As is usual when the three cousins plan an event, their party is a great success and their parents have a wonderful time. Best of all, Michael gives them a wonderful surprise and though they have to live apart now, they have something new to look forward to, and a very special party to plan.
In this installment of the Cobble Street story the sadness that is inevitable with a parting is wonderfully tempered by the enjoyment of the here and now and by the prospect of future good times.

ACTION ALERT!

Reading is Fundamental (RIF) needs your help. The President's proposed fiscal year 2009 budget released in February eliminates the Inexpensive Book Distribution Program, which is the RIF Book Distribution Program. Unless Congress reinstates funding for this program, RIF will be unable to distribute 16 million books annually to the nation's youngest and most at-risk children. RIF serves 4.6 million children. Please click on the link below to visit the RIF Action Alert page so you can make your voice heard and support their efforts.
