  Stink has a big problem: he isn’t growing. Even when he eats what he is supposed to, Stink stays at three feet, eight inches tall. Then one day his sister Judy measures him and she tells him that he is now three feet, seven and three-quarter inches tall. Stink is shrinking!

  Stink’s situation is discouraging, and he is feeling very glum indeed. Thankfully, there are people around who do their best to cheer him up. Stink is delighted when he is chosen to be the person who takes Newton the Newt home for the long weekend. With dedication Stink cares for Newton, writing down everything the animal does. His sister thinks Newton is boring, but Stink thinks Newton is a fascinating creature.

  Then disaster strikes. Newton is washed down the sink and poor Stink is devastated. Nothing seems to go right in his world.

  In this very funny and cleverly written book, we meet a boy who has the kinds of problems that we all face when we are young. The illustrator’s comic book style drawings perfectly suit the text, and readers will be eager to find out what Stink is going to do next.
