Snow Day A winter tale

Snow Day! A Winter Tale

Joan Holub

Illustrated by Will Terry

Fiction (Series)

Ages 3 to 5

Simon and Schuster, 2008, 1-4169-5135-0

It is snowing and the ants are outside playing in the snow. Jake tries to catch a snowflake on his tongue. Paul is making a snowball, while Grant is making a snow ant. Then Ed comes up with a great idea. They should all go sledding.

And so the ants pile onto a long sled. They push off at the very top of the hill, and they are off.

In this simple rhyming beginner reader title children will not only get to enjoy the snowy adventure that the ants have, but they will also get to explore some new words. In addition they will see that very different words can have similar sounds.
