Sneakers the cat and his family are going to the seashore. Sneakers has never been to the seaside before and there are so many fascinating things to experience. First of all he smells fish but he discovers that the fish are under the cold wet water and that is not a place that he wants to go. Still there are lots of other things to do and more importantly there are all sorts of creatures to investigate.
For example Sneakers meets a crab. Now that is an encounter he is quite happy to forget but still the feel, the smells, and the sounds of the seashore delight and fascinate him.
Anne Mortimer's magical and rich illustrations bring this seaside adventure to life in brilliant color and detail. Cat lovers of all ages will delight in Sneaker's curiosity, recognizing and appreciating it as being true to form. Powerful images of seaside life flow through the text and make one wish that such salty delights were just outside the window.
