Skippyjon Jones 1-2-3

Judy Schachner

Board Book (Series)

Ages 1 to 4

Penguin, 2008, 978-0-525-47956-7

Sometimes trying to learn and understand numbers can be hard – and boring. But, when Skippyjon Jones is there to help you, the process is sure to be fun. Just in case you don’t know about Skippyjon Jones, he is a very naughty little Siamese kitten who has a very active imagination and who fancies - much to his mother’s distress - that he is a Chihuahua.

In this board book we take a little journey with Skippy into his Siamese cat world. We meet his three “nosy” sisters, we see some of his dinosaur collection, and we come to appreciate his naughtiness as we watch him preparing to go diving in a goldfish bowl where “9 nervous fish” swim around.

On the main pages of the book the author presents her narrative using numerals. At the back of the book she gives her readers the numbers from one to ten in numeral form and in words, both in English and in Spanish.

With the big eared Siamese kitten to make things interesting and funny, this little counting book is sure to delight small children.
