Peter Rabbit Rainbow Shapes and Colors

Based on the works of Beatrix Potter

Board Book

Infants to age 3

Penguin, 2006, 0-7232-5722-1

When you are very little it is not always easy to remember which color and which shape is which, and what the basic colors and shapes are called. With this little book in hand young children will find it easy to learn these valuable pieces of information. They will also learn to associate certain things with certain colors. For example on the first page they will see a red heart in the center of the page. Around this heart there are pictures of strawberries, a ladybug, and a robin redbreast. On the orange page they will see an orange triangle with a picture of a pumpkin in the middle. Around this there are also pictures of carrots, a goldfish, and Mr. Fox (who you may remember wanted to eat Jemima Puddleduck.)

Indeed characters from the Beatrix Potter books can be found on every page and they include Peter Rabbit, Mrs. Tiggywinkle, and Jeremy Fisher. Children who enjoy the Beatrix Potter stories will be delighted to find these much loved characters in this book.

The pictures in the book are bright and cheerful and the shapes in the center of the pages are raised, perfectly suited for exploring little fingers.
