Little Red Train Magnetic Playbook
Benedict Blathwayt
Picture Book with magnets (Series)
Ages 3 to 5
Random House UK, 2006, 1-091-79877-9
The Little Red Train is going to get some gravel from the quarry. It is time to hook up the carriage and the guard’s van and then off we go. The Little Red Train goes under a bridge and past a traffic jam; it crosses a river and goes by the airport. Then at last, it arrives at the quarry where the noisy rockbreaker, the digger, and dumper truck are busy at work breaking up and moving gravel which The Little Red Train will transport in its gravel truck.
In all there are four magnetic scenes in this book which young readers can ‘illustrate” using the twenty two picture magnets provided. If they wish, readers can follow the story in the book using the clues provided in the text to place the magnets on the appropriate page. Or readers can make up their own stories and have a little fun with the magnets which will stick to any part of the pages in the book.
Little Red Train fans are sure to enjoy this wonderful book creating stories of their own again and again.
