  Judy Moody is thrilled when she gets a mood ring in her box of cereal. However, her good mood rapidly turns into a bad one when the ring refuses to turn purple for “Joyful, On Top of the World.” It remains a deep black instead. After Judy throws the ring away in a fit of pique, her brother Stink retrieves it, puts it on, and it turns green. What a nerve! Of course, Judy now wants her ring back, but Stink refuses to give it up.

  Judy Moody then proceeds to work very hard to convince her brother that she has “special powers” and that she, and only she, should have the ring. In the end, by making sure that a prediction comes true, Judy convinces Stink that she does indeed have magical powers. Is it possible that Judy can predict other things? Will she be able to get top marks in a spelling test by using her special powers?

  In this delightful Judy Moody title, the little girl who says “ROAR!” when she is annoyed discovers that predicting is not as easy as it seems. More importantly, she comes to learn that using your eyes and common sense will take you a lot further than a load of hocus pocus. Wonderfully entertaining and often funny, this is a splendid book for young readers.
