Itty Bitty

Cece Bell

Picture Book

Ages 2 to 4

Candlewick Press, 2009, 978-0-7636-3616-6

Itty Bitty is a dog. He is a dog who is so small that when he finds a bone lying around, he is able – after doing a little work – to turn it into a home. Once it is all hollowed out and has a door and windows, Itty Bitty decides that the house is missing something. It is too big and empty, and it does not feel like home.

So Itty Bitty jumps into his little nutshell vehicle and heads to town. He goes into a department store, and he soon realizes that he has a big problem. Everything in the store is huge. What is Itty Bitty to do?

In this delightful little picture book, young children will get to meet a truly tiny dog who makes up for his lack of inches by being a charming example of his species. Bright glowing acrylic illustrations perfectly compliment the simple prose.
