Firefighter
Ken Wilson-Max
Board/Novelty Book
Ages 1 to 3
Abrams, 2005, 0-8109-5776-0
The alarm is sounding. Somewhere not too far away there is a fire and the firefighters in the fire station have to get ready for the emergency. Let’s see what they do and how they do their job. Quickly they slide down the pole and get dressed in their yellow jackets, pants, helmets and gloves. Next they check their equipment and prepare for the job ahead. Into the trucks, its time to go!
At the scene of the fire the firefighters roll out the hoses and raise the ladder. There’s the fire! Keep the water coming!
At last the job is done and because we too were along for the ride the fire department is going to give us a special award “for bravery above and beyond the call of duty.”
Young children will love this lift-the-flap and pull-the-tab book which allows them to imagine, just for a little while, that they too are firefighters. With a siren button to push, bright colorful illustrations, and a simple text, this is the perfect book for any child who dreams of becoming a firefighter.
