Reviews - Fiction Ages 5 to 12

These days we are very lucky to have a truly wide variety of early readers, chapter books, and middle readers available to us. Some of them are also quite lovely to look at with delightful illustrations throughout. The importance of the early reader in the reading life of a child is often unrecognized. The next step, the chapter book, offers a child that very first chance to properly read a book on his or her own. The middle reader takes a child into a new world of fiction and gives the reader a real taste of what a novel can be like

The Mad Hatter
The White Rabbit

Action Alert

Reading is Fundamental (RIF) needs your help. The President's proposed fiscal year 2009 budget released in February eliminates the Inexpensive Book Distribution Program, which is the RIF Book Distribution Program. Unless Congress reinstates funding for this program, RIF will be unable to distribute 16 million books annually to the nation's youngest and most at-risk children. RIF serves 4.6 million children. Please click on the link below to visit the RIF Action Alert page so you can make your voice heard and support their efforts.
