Feely Bugs
David A. Carter
Board/Novelty Book
Ages 2 to 5
Simon and Schuster, 1995, 1-4169-0326-7
The world is full of colors and textures and in this wonderful little book small children can explore just a few of them by dipping into David Carter’s wonderful world of bugs. With feathers, fur, leather, lace, velvet and more, the author has created a delightful collection of creatures for little fingers to touch and stroke. Some of the textures even make interesting sounds when they are touched and certainly all the bugs in the pictures are colorful and amusing to look at.
Not only will small children enjoy touching and looking at the bugs but they will also be introduced to some wonderful descriptive words such as “sticky,” “puffy,” “lacy,” and “wrinkly.”

Reading is Fundamental (RIF) needs your help. The President's proposed fiscal year 2009 budget released in February eliminates the Inexpensive Book Distribution Program, which is the RIF Book Distribution Program. Unless Congress reinstates funding for this program, RIF will be unable to distribute 16 million books annually to the nation's youngest and most at-risk children. RIF serves 4.6 million children. Please click on the link below to visit the RIF Action Alert page so you can make your voice heard and support their efforts.
