Eloise at the wedding
Margaret McNamara
Illustrated by Tammie Lyon
Fiction (Series)
Ages 4 to 6
Simon and Schuster, 2006, 0-689-87449-9
Eloise is very excited because there is going to be a wedding at the plaza hotel where she lives. In no time the precocious six-year-old in getting into everything and giving Nanny cause to inform her charge very firmly that she is “not going” because no one has “asked you to go.”
Dear me. Poor Eloise. Then Nanny says that Eloise may see the bride if she is very good. Eloise does her best and at last she is allowed to go to see the bride though she does not stick around long enough to allow Nanny to dress her properly. There is a problem however. There is no bride! Where can she be?
Once again Eloise is her funny and delightfully naughty self. Little girls will love the fact that Eloise does in fact get to see the wedding after all and the illustrations are very true to the ones originally created by Hilary Knight.
This is a Level One title in the “Ready-to-Read” series.

Reading is Fundamental (RIF) needs your help. The President's proposed fiscal year 2009 budget released in February eliminates the Inexpensive Book Distribution Program, which is the RIF Book Distribution Program. Unless Congress reinstates funding for this program, RIF will be unable to distribute 16 million books annually to the nation's youngest and most at-risk children. RIF serves 4.6 million children. Please click on the link below to visit the RIF Action Alert page so you can make your voice heard and support their efforts.
