Easter is a time when Christians remember how Jesus, the son of God, sacrificed his life for them. Though it is a sad time in some ways, it is also a happy time. It is a time of rebirth and of new beginnings. It is a time when baby animals are born and when flowers bloom. Many people celebrate Easter by going to church and by having a big meal with their families.
For children Easter is a time to decorate Easter eggs, to have Easter eggs hunts, to play games outdoors, and to wonder what the Easter Bunny might bring them.
This excellent title in the “My first look at holidays” series will help young children understand what Easter is all about. Full of colorful annotated photographs and with an Easter activity at the back of the book, this title is sure to excite little children and give them lots of holiday ideas.

Reading is Fundamental (RIF) needs your help. The President's proposed fiscal year 2009 budget released in February eliminates the Inexpensive Book Distribution Program, which is the RIF Book Distribution Program. Unless Congress reinstates funding for this program, RIF will be unable to distribute 16 million books annually to the nation's youngest and most at-risk children. RIF serves 4.6 million children. Please click on the link below to visit the RIF Action Alert page so you can make your voice heard and support their efforts.
