  An erupting volcano is the most powerful force found in nature. It can spew out rivers of molten rock and enormous clouds of ash. It can shoot huge boulders high into the sky. Such eruptions can change the appearance of the environment for miles around; it can kill hundreds of people and cause millions of dollars in damage to homes and businesses; it can even change the weather of the planet.
