Napoleon Bonaparte certainly changed the world when he decided to take centre stage in the late 1700's and early 1800's. By his side, for many of the years when he was in power, he had his lovely and charismatic wife Josephine. The actions of these two extraordinary characters gave the people of their time a great deal to think and talk about.
This collection includes two dolls and sixteen costumes to cut out and admire. The dolls and the costumes have been rendered in full brilliant and detailed color, and for each one the publisher offers interesting information about the clothes, when they might have been worn, and how fashion was affected by the political and social events of the times.
The publisher also includes a well written biography of the great general and his wife which sets the scene for the dolls and their beautiful clothes.
