Babar is truly an elephant of many trades. Not only is he the king of the elephants but now he is also a novice magician. Babar feels that he is ready to show off his new skills so he invites his children, along with Arthur and Zephir, to a magic show.
To the amazement of all one after another of Babar’s tricks and illusions go off without a hitch, until Babar decides to levitate Zephir. This time something does go wrong and before Babar can stop him Zephir floats off across Celesteville. Perhaps all this magic wasn’t such a good idea after all.
In this short but sweet little picture book Babar the elephant once again has a most unusual adventure. Young would-be magicians will especially enjoy the story and may even be tempted to try a trick or two of their own.
