Babar's Busy Year
Laurent de Brunhoff
Picture Book (Series)
Ages 4 to 6
Harry N. Abrams, 2005, 0-8109-5864-3
With every season Babar and his family have new and wonderful activities to share and enjoy. In the fall the royal family go to the pumpkin patch and Isabelle chooses such a huge pumpkin that Arthur is going to have to carry it home for her. The children also harvest apples and corn. Then it starts to get chilly and Cornelius decides that he is better off sitting by the fire in the company of his friend The Old Lady. The children however have a great time going skiing in the mountains.
Slowly the seasons unfold and the elephant children discover that there is always something to look forward to in the months ahead.
Younger fans of the Babar series will greatly enjoy this portrait of the seasons and the seasonal treats that Flora, Pom, Isabelle, Arthur, Babar, Celeste and their friends share.

ACTION ALERT!

Reading is Fundamental (RIF) needs your help. The President's proposed fiscal year 2009 budget released in February eliminates the Inexpensive Book Distribution Program, which is the RIF Book Distribution Program. Unless Congress reinstates funding for this program, RIF will be unable to distribute 16 million books annually to the nation's youngest and most at-risk children. RIF serves 4.6 million children. Please click on the link below to visit the RIF Action Alert page so you can make your voice heard and support their efforts.
