Animal Friends: A Collection of Poems for Children

As a little girl looks about her on a pretty day she hopes that the bees, the rabbits, the frogs, the ants, and the creatures of the meadow, the sky, and the marsh “don’t mind” her being there for she knows that these places are their places and that she is just a guest there.
These are the sentiments expressed in just the first of twenty wonderful poems which explore the lives of the animals which share our world with us. Some of the animals, like spiders and caterpillars, frogs and a fieldmouse, are wild things which we can only watch and admire from a distance. Others, like our own beloved dogs and cats, share our homes and are our companions in our games.
New poems and old friends from Mother Goose and Robert Louis Stevenson, rhyme and non-rhyming verse, all come together with Michael Hague’s beautiful artwork to produce a collection which celebrates the wonder of the animal kingdom and the beauty of nature.
