  Today when we think of Martin Luther King, Jr. we think of a man who led his people in a peaceful battle against cruel and unjust laws. We think of a man who gave great speeches and whose words moved people all over the words. We think of a man who won the Nobel Peace Prize and whose name is a household word. But, before he was all these things, Martin was a little boy growing up in Atlanta, Georgia.
  He was a little boy who loved to play baseball with the neighborhood boys and who sang in the church choir with his brother and sister. He was a little boy who was confused by the segregation laws which divided up his hometown and which meant that he was treated like a lesser citizen.
  This picture book not only tells the story of Martin Luther King, Jr. in an accessible way, but it also shows young children that Martin was a child like them, a child who decided, when he grew up, that he would bring about change for the good of all. This book will provide young children with an excellent introduction to the life and work of Martin Luther King, Jr.
